The children at Fleet are very lucky to go on many school trips relating to their termly topics. As teachers plan each topic, they think carefully about possible opportunities that are on offer out of school that can extend learning and provide children with interesting and exciting experiences. Each class aims to go on approximately 4-5 trips per term and parents are notified beforehand of any trips that involve public transport. We also endevour to make use of our fantastic surroundings and go on shorter trips to the Heath and local shops as and when it is relevant. Teachers ensure children are well supported on trips and regularly ask parents to come along and help out.
Some examples of past trips include the British Museum, Bloomsbury Theatre, R.A.F Museum, Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Kew Gardens, Tower of London, London Transport Museum, London Zoo and the Horniman Museum. We often also have exciting visitors in school such as History off the Page, Sir Isaac Newton and Zoolab.
School Journeys
Each year, Year 5 visit Sayers Croft for a week in November. Sayers Croft is based near Guildford. The week offers the children opportunities to take part in a variety of activities such as orienteering, archery and night walks in the woods. The children always have a wonderful time with lots of fun had by all!
Year 6 visit Gower in Wales during the summer term for a week. It is a beautiful place and is always a highlight of the school year. The class stay in a hotel and have wonderful walks around the area, spending much of their time on the beach and in the sea...if the weather allows! It is a fantastic experience for the children and something they look forward to throughout their time at Fleet.
